Nationally, the Government is committed to improving the safety of children and young people. Staying safe is vital for children and young people’s happiness, health, wellbeing and achievement. Unless they are safe, children cannot thrive. Harm to children can have a fundamental impact during their childhood and lasting effects into adult life.
