Devon Children’s Trust is a partnership of public and voluntary sector organisations working together to meet the needs of children and families. The Children’s Trust exists to improve outcomes for children and young people because we believe that this can be done more effectively by all agencies and organisations working together.

To achieve our aims, the Children’s Trust partners need to be able to work in a co-ordinated way. Our Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) makes this co-ordination possible.

Children’s Trusts exist across the country to improve the lives and futures of children and young people. They aim to help every child and young person in their area meet the five Every Child Matters outcomes. Every Child Matters is the new approach to the wellbeing of children and young people from birth to 19. Every child, whatever their background or their circumstances should have the support they need to:

• be healthy
• stay safe
• enjoy and achieve
• make a positive contribution
• achieve economic wellbeing.
